Let me explain:
The most important thing is to make videos that cover what you are PASSIONATE about. What you know. What you care about.
Perhaps you love making miniature furniture items; eating weird foods; creating 3D objects using AI software. Perhaps you love hamsters or strange architecture, or just talking to people you meet.
Whatever it is, you want to FILM that. You don’t want to be chasing trends.
Once you know what you’re passionate about, then the questions is not WHAT you should make a video about, but HOW are you going to do it?
Picking an area of interest/passion is one thing, figuring out how to share/talk about it and create an interesting video format is another.
For instance, my current passion is using AI to compose music. There are many different formats of YouTube videos I could make on this subject. I could do a tutorial format - where I teach people how to use AI for specific applications. I could do a comedic vlog format, where I show people the latest projects I’m doing and the challenges I face in a lighthearted way. I could do a “challenge” format where I take popular YouTube challenges (like the SLIME challenge, for instance) and integrate AI in a fun way. I could do an “Ask the Audience” format where I take on suggestions or challenges from the audience and try to complete that task using AI. I could do a song format where each week is a new song created with AI.
The options are endless, but it’s important to contemplate HOW you want to share your ideas with the world. How do you want to make people feel? How do you plan to grab their attention? How much time each week can you devote to shooting/editing? Do you need graphics? Do you have a budget?
All of these are important considerations when you decide to embark on a content strategy.
