Light reaction is independent reaction. There is no need of light energy. This reaction takes place in stroma of chloroplast. This process occur in presence of ribulose biphosphate. In the form of cycle called calvin cycle. It involves following steps.
1- CO2 intake by leaves through the stomata nd combined with 5-C compound ribulose biphosphate nd produce there carbon compound phosphoglyceric acid(PGA).
Ribulose biphosphate (RuBP) + CO2 = PGA
2-PGA is active by NADPH2 nd ATP nd reduce to form 12 molecule of phosphoglyceraldehyde (PGAL)
PGAL+ATP+NADPH2 =12PHAL
3- Out of 12 molecules 10 molecules of PGAL regenerate inyo rubp nd 2 molecules into glucose
PGAL = glucose
Glucose is form inside the measophyle cell of leaves can change into various form of food like starch
I hope it helps u
