ax^2 + x + a = 0, if the zeroes of the quadratic polynomial are equal.

a = a, b = 1 and c = a

We know that if the zeroes of the quadratic polynomial are equal then b^2 - 4ac = 0

By putting the respected values, we get

(1)^2 - 4(a)(a) = 0

or, 1 - 4a^2 = 0

or, -4a^2 = -1

or, -4a = √-1

or, a = √-1/-4 = √1/4

= √1/√4

= 1/2

Answer:

The value of a is 1/2 .
