ABCD is a square.
Thus,
AB=BC=CD=AD.
AP=1/2AB
AR=1/2AD
Because, AB=AD
Therefore, AP=AR.

AP = AR is the part of square which lies on the circle.
Note that the square is having the length and breadth of equal size. So AP = AR is the half length of square and also half breadth of square is of the same size.
