Answer:

326.56 cm2

Step-by-step explanation:

So shaded part = area of outer circle - area of inner circle

Area of inner circle  =

radius of inner circle = 11 cm

A = πr2

so a = 3.14 × 11 × 11 = 379.94 cm2

Area of outer circle =

radius of outer circle = 11 + 4 (width given outside inner circle)= 15

A = πr2

so a = 3.14 × 15 × 15 = 706.5cm2

so area of outer circle - area of inner circle = 706.5 - 379.94 = 326.56

so area of shaded part = approximately 326.5 cm2

hope this helps :)

add thanks and mark as brainliest if this helps you :)

Things to know

  • Concentric circles

→ Those are circles having the same center.

Solution

The radius of the inner circle is 11. Since two circles are concentric, the radius of the outer circle will be 15.

Now the shaded region is the difference of the two areas.

\text{Outer circle}=\pi \times 15^2

\text{Inner circle}=\pi \times 11^2

The area of the shaded region is 104\pi cm².
