here it is...!!

____________________________________________

The group 2 metal is : Barium (Ba)

Given :

Relative formula mass of group 2 metal : 197

Relative atomic masses : C = 12 , O = 6

We know that the valency of group 2 metal is 2. Hence, it forms MCO3 metal carbonates.

Formula used :

Relative formula mass

A . T . Q ,

Let the relative mass of group 2 metal be : Z

Then,

Z + 12 + 3(16) = 197

Z + 60 = 197

Z = 197 - 60

Z = 137

Therefore :

The relative mass of group 2 metal(Z) is : 137

Hence, the group 2 metal is : Barium (Ba)

Reason :

The relative atomic mass of Barium (Ba) is 137
