Can anyone make the redox equation of this reacion.I also need to see the two half reaxtions (oxidaion and reduction).
FeS2+O2----Fe2O3+SO2

Correct equation for the above mentioned reaction is:

FeS + O2 → Fe2O3 + SO2

In this reaction:

Sulphur (S) oxidized from “-2” charge to “+4” charge.

Iron (Fe) is oxidized from “+2” charge to “+3” charge.

Oxygen reduced from “0” charge to “-2” charge.

This reaction can be balanced in simpler manner (balancing each atom on either sides of the equation).

4FeS + 7O2 → 2Fe2O3 + 4SO2

margarita: excuse me..........its is fes2 and not fe...........plus that i think it is like this way.............
margarita: like this..............8 S-I - 40 e- → 8 SIV (oxidation)

4 FeII - 4 e- → 4 FeIII (oxidation)

22 O0 + 44 e- → 22 O-II (reduction)

Change the oxidation states
