Expansion of metals have many uses in out daily life. The common examples are in railway tracks, fitting the rim of cycle etc.
Explaination :-
While fitting the rim in the cycle, the rim is heated to expand it and then it is easily fitted along the tyres. And after some time it gets cool down and becomes hard and gets fit there.
Other example :- There is some gap left between the two railway tracks so that if in summer it will expand then tranks will not overlap on each other and avoid the accidents.
