1. Use of good cement mortars in the proportion of 1:6 cement and sand.
2. A horizontal seismic band should run through all the internal and externa mase
walls.
3. The brick walls should be vertically reinforced.
Vertical reinforcement should also be provided to the jambs of openings.
4. Foundation width should be decided by the load coming on the foundation and the
bearing capacity.​
