This is because when heat is passed the air molecules gain heat energy due to which they start moving violently in all directions to escape since their energy is boosted up due to heat. When the can is cooled down the energy which they possessed earlier decreases and so they again attain their normal state. So, air inside heated can exerts more pressure than air inside cold can due to violent collision of molecules with walls of container.
