Answer: a= 11 and b= 6

Step-by-step explanation:

q. [5+2√3] / 7+4√3

Rationalising the denominator

= (5+2√3) (7-4√3) / (7+4√3) (7-4√3)

(35 - 20√3 + 14√3 - 8(√3)(√3) / 49 - 48

as (a+b)(a-b) = a^2 + b^2

Simplifying

35 - 24 - 20√3 + 14√3 /1

= 11 - 6√3

so, 11 - 6√3 = a - b√3

by comparing both of the 2 sides

a = 11 and b = 6
