Explanation:

The first upper two resistances of each 2 ohms resistances are connected in series. Therefore, sum of these two resistances will be the simple sum of two.

2ohms + 2 ohm = 4 ohms.

Now, this 4 ohms resistance is connected parallel with the lower 2 ohms resistance.  Calculate the equivalent resistance of 4ohms and 2 ohms which is in parallel.

\frac{1}{R} = \frac{1}{4}  +\frac{1}{2} \\R = \frac{2+4}{4*2} =\frac{4}{3}

Use the ohm's law to calculate the current.

V = IR

I =V/R =2V/(4/3) = 1.5A
