Heya...
• Here is your answer :
• The story 'Salvatore' was written by the well known story teller William Somerset Maugham. The story is all about a couple in love that isn't going be together. In the beginning, William describes a child of 15 laughing with carefree eyes that is actually the main character of the story. He also describes that Salvatore used to help his father either in the little vineyard or in used to spend his time by lying on the beach. Eventually he falls in love with a girl of his village but because of his military service things, he had to leave the village.
• While he was on his military services he felt kind of homesick but there was something worse troubling him. He was really sad because of the fact that the girl he loved wasn't with him. Gradually in time he fell ill and learnt that it was a form of rheumatism that made him unfit for further work in the service and so his heart exulted too so that he can go home.
• The author pays great attention to the fact that how strong was a wish to come back home and see the girl he loved madly. But an unlucky thing happens for him and that is the girl refuses to accept his love because of his illness.
• As the story ends, the writer describes about a woman Assunta who is really mad after the love of Salvatore. Just after their marriage, Salvatore is described as big and husky fellow but with kindness and those sparkly eyes. He was nothing but a man possessing a miraculous quality called goodness. Despite that fact Salvatore lost his love of life and started a new life with some another and this loss stayed in his heart forever.
• Hope it helps!
• Felicitations.

Hi friend,
Your answer:
I'm giving you only one example, it should help you well enough to write another one or two paragraphs about other poems by the author, before you go to the conclusion.
The story 'Salvatore' was written by William Somerset Maugham. In Salvatore, we have the theme of responsibility, acceptance, happiness, dignity and humility. The story is narrated in the first person by an unnamed narrator. It is in the form of a parable.
This story is set in a tiny remote fishing village in Italy and centers around Salvatore, a young 15-year-old happy-go-lucky boy of a fisherman’s family. He had two younger siblings.
It is a story about a young man who has been challenged by life and has overcome any obstacle that has been put in front of him. The protagonist, Salvatore has managed to prosper despite incurring difficulties in life and at the same time holds no ill will towards anyone.
Salvatore has no heroics, no special abilities, no chivalry, no melodrama, nothing special. Yet, his very ordinary and mundane character exudes the values that make a person adorable.
He had to spend a wretched time in the king’s navy, fell ill to chronic rheumatism in China and was invalided out of the navy, at home his sweetheart tells him she cannot marry him because of his illness. At the end, he comes to know that a woman named Assunta is willing to marry him. At first, he says that she s ugly. But later he marries her and leads a quiet, happy life. After their marriage, Salvatore is described as big and husky fellow but with kindness and those sparkly eyes which he had as a boy.
Hope it helps!
