Given :-

  • Total cost of curtain to cover door = Rs.4000
  • Length of Door = 2 m
  • Breadth of Door = 1 m.
  • Perimeter of window = 1.5 * Perimeter of door.
  • Length of window = 1/2 * Length of Door .

Formula used :-

  • Perimeter of Door & Window which are in Rectangular shape = 2*( Length + Breadth).
  • Area of Rectangle = Length * Breadth .
  • Cost of curtain Means Covering The Area.

Solution :-

Step 1 :- Length & breadth of Door are given 2m & 1m.

So,

→ Area of Door = L * B = 2 * 1 = 2m².

And, Cost of curtain to cover door = Rs.4000

So,

→ Cost of curtain of 1m² = (4000/2) = Rs.2000 ------ Equation(1)

Step 2 :-

→ Length of window = 1/2 * Length of Door = (1/2) * 2 = 1m.------ Equation (2)

And,

Perimeter of window = 1.5 * Perimeter of door.

So, Let Breadth of window is b .

Perimeter of window = 1.5 * [2( L + B) ]

Putting values we get,

→ 2(1 + b) = 3(2 + 1)

→ 2 + 2b = 9

→ 2b = 9 - 2

→ 2b = 7

→ b = 3.5m. ---------- Equation (3).

Step 3 :-

From Equation (2) & (3) Now, we have ,

Length of window = 1 m.

→ Breadth of window = 3.5m.

So,

Area of window = L * B = 3.5 * 1 = 3.5m². --------- Equation(4).

Step 4:-

Now, From Equation (1) & Equation (4) ,

cost to cover the window with curtain = Total Area of window * Cost per m² .

→ Cost = 3.5 * 2000

→ Cost = Rs.7000 (Ans).

Hence, Total cost to cover the window with curtain is Rs.7000...

Solution-

________________________

Given-

Total cost of curtain = ₹4000

Length of door= 2m

Breadth of door = 1m

Perimeter of window = 1.5×perimeter of door

Length of window = 1/2 × length of door

________________________

Solving-

➠Length and Breadth of door are 2m & 1m

➠Area of door = L×B = 2×1 = 2m²

➠Cost of curtain for door = ₹4000

➠Cost of curtain of 1m² = (4000/2) = ₹2000 __(EQ.1)

_______________________

➠Length of window = 1/2 × length of door = 1/2×2____(EQ.2)

_______________________

Let the breath be B

➠Perimeter of window = 1.5×[2(l+b)]

➠2(1+b)

➠3(2+1)

➠2+2b= 9

➠2b = 9-2

➠2b = 7

➠b = 7/2

➠b = 3.5 m_____(EQ.3)

_______________________

Comparing EQ.2 & EQ.3

Length of window = 1m

Breadth of window = 3.5m

➠Area of window = L×B

➠3.5×1 = 3.5m² ____(EQ.4)

_______________________

Comparing (EQ.1)&(EQ.4)

➠Cost of curtain to cover the window = (Total area of window×Cost per m²)

➠Cost= 3.5× 2000

➠Cost = ₹7000
