  • The secretions of these hypothalamic nuclei control the pituitary gland.
  • The secretions of hypothalamic nuclei are called neurohormones. These hormones reach the pituitary through the portal blood.
  • The neurohormones include releasing hormones, inhibiting hormones and other two hormones.
  • The releasing hormones include Thyrotropin releasing hormone (TRH), Corticotropin releasing hormone (CTRH) and Gonadotropin releasing hormone (GRH).
