molarity of H2O = 1000÷18 = 55.55

since, density of water = 1000 g/m³ (in SI)

and molar mass = 18g

Now according to question, moles of ethyl alcohol is given = 0.040

Now we know, molarity of a substance in a solution = (its own number of moles)÷(total number of moles present)

Hence, in following normal algebra you will get n(C2H5OH) = 2.314

at last, we know, molarity = number of moles(n) per unit litre volume

Hope it helps.
