This is the theory of Einstein and we all know it by Relativity Theory.

First of there were two postulate:-

1. The Principle of Relativity.

2. The Principle of Constancy of the speed of Light.

This equation cannot be proved hence we can derive it.

Relativistic Kinetic energy= E-mc^2

E= Ke(Kinetic energy) + mc^2

If the Kinetic energy of a moving body is zero then we can,

E=0+ mc^2

Hence,

E= mc^2

This standard equation stands for the Kinetic Energy.

E = Kinetic Energy

m= mass of the body

c^2= (speed of light)^2

 \bf{see \: in \: pic}

here in this equation

E is energy

M is mass

and

 \sf{ {c }^{2} is \: speed \: of \: light}
according to theory of general relativity nothing can travel higher than the speed of light and this postulate is used in the mass energy relation the famous equation E=mc2
