Structure of an atom

• There are three basic parts of an atom.

1. Electron
2. Proton
3. Neutron

• The proton and neutron are enclosed in the nucleus of an atom.
• The electrons rotate in orbitals around the nucleus of an atom.
• The neutrons have no charge, electrons are negatively charged and the protons are positively charged.
