it is Euclid postulate :-
if we subtract equal from equals the remains are equal.



this postulate is given by Euclid ( a great mathematician ) .



for eg :-


5 = 5

if you subtract 3 from both side


5 -3 = 5-3


2 = 2


so if you subtract equal from equal the remain will be equal.
