  • here, on dividing the given curve, we will get four rectangles and two triangles.

  • so, to find displacement,we have to add the areas of four rectangles and two triangles
  • area of rectangle=length×breadth
  • area of triangle=1/2×base×height

= area of rectangle 1 +rectangle 2 +rectangle 3 + rectangle 4+ triangle 1 + triangle 2

=(2×1)+(2×1)+(2×1)+(4×1)+(1/2×1×2)+(1/2×1×2)

=12m
