x/60 × 300 + y/75 × 300 = 8× 300

5x + 4y = 2400 -------3

multiplying equation 1 by 5

5x + 5y = 2775 ---------4

subtracting equation 4 from 3

we get,

5x + 5y = 2775

5x + 4y = 2400

y = 375

substituting y = 375 into equation 1

x + y = 555

x + 375 = 555

x = 555 - 375

x = 180 km

Vishal travelled 180 km by bus.
