Solution

Given :-

  • 3^(x-1) = 9 ________(1)
  • 4^(y+2) = 64 _______(2)

Find :-

  • Value of y/x - x/y

Explanation

We Know,

★ if a^m = a^n , then , m = n

By equation(1)

==> 3^(x-1) = 9

==> 3^(x-1) = 3^3

==> (x - 1) = 3

==> x = 3 + 1

==> x = 4

Again, by equ(2)

==> 4^(y+2) = 64

==> 4^(y+2) = 4^4

==> y + 2 = 4

==> y = 4 - 2

==> y = 2

______________________

Now, find value

= y/x - x/y

Keep Value of x & y

= 2/4 - 4/2

= 1/2 - 2

= (1-2)/2

= -1/2

or

= -0.5

Hence

  • Value of y/x - x/y will be = -0.5
