Heya !!

4a² - 15a - 4 = 0

4a² - 16a + a - 4 = 0

4a ( a - 4 ) + 1 ( a - 4 ) = 0

( a - 4 ) ( 4a + 1 ) = 0

( a - 4 ) = 0 or ( 4a + 1 ) = 0

a = 4 or a = -1/4.
