Answer: v = 50 m/s.

Explanation:

Initial velocity = u

Acceleration = a

Sum of distances convered by the particle of nth and (n + 1)th seconds = 100 m

We know,

 \rm S_{nth} = u + \dfrac{a}{2}(2n - 1) .

So, S (sum) = u + a/2(2n - 1) + u + a/2(2n + 1)

⇒ S = 2u + a/2(2n - 1 + 2n + 1)

⇒ S = 2u + a/2(4n)

⇒ S = 2(u + an)

⇒ u + an = S/2

⇒ u + an = 50 (∵ S = 100 m)

Now, we know the first equation of motion:-

 \rm v = u + at .

∵ u + an = 50 m/s,

∴ v = 50 m/s.
