1) A pyramid is defined as a three-dimensional structure encompassing a polygon as its base.

2) The three main parts of any pyramid are the apex, face, and base. The base of a pyramid may be of any shape such as triangle, square, pentagon. Faces are in the shape of an isosceles triangle. Apex is a point at the top of the pyramid where all the triangle of the pyramid meets.

3) Lateral surface area of pyramid= 1/2×p×l Total surface area of pyramid= 1/2×p×l+b

[Here p means perimeter of the base and l means slant height]

Volume of a pyramid= 1/2× base area× h

4) Types of pyramid

★Square pyramid

★Triangular pyramid

★Pentagonal pyramid
