can anyone tell me concept of lateral inversion

When the image of an object is erect but is inverted in the lateral side it is called lateral inversion i.e. the left side come to the right and the right comes to the left.
Eg – AMBULANCE is written inverted on the ambulance.

Lateral inversion is phenomenon in which when looked in the plane mirror,the left of the object becomes right of the image and vice versa.

It is due to lateral inversion of the image formed in plane mirror that it becomes difficult to read a page which is reflected by plane mirror.
