Answer:The Central Board of Secondary Education is conducting Aryabhatta Ganit Challenge for the students from class 8 to 10. The programme which is aimed at promoting mathematical competencies that are required to face the challenges of the 21st century commenced its first stage on November 18, 2019, and will continue until November 22, 2019.
The Aryabhatta test conducted will focus on the extent to which students are able to apply mathematics in their daily life and also aim at promoting joyful learning of Mathematics. As per the statement released by the board, close to 7,71,214 students from 5,457 affiliated schools participated in the first stage of the Ganit Challenge. As per the official release, the final stage of the challenge will be conducted on November 29, 2019, which will have the top 3 students taking part in the computer-based test.
The areas of assessment for the challenge include the Application of Mathematics in daily life, Joy of Mathematics Learning and Mathematical ability all of which are conducted for 20 marks each. The test will be conducted for a duration of 1 hour and will contain objective type questions. There will not be any negative marking for the challenge.
First Stage
The question paper for the challenge will be made available to the registered schools along with the answer keys through the online link. The registered schools must conduct the test and identify the top three students following which they have to be registered by paying a fee of Rs. 900 by logging in through the online link provided from November 18 to 25, 2019.
The second stage will be conducted by the board on November 29, 2019, for the top three students who have been registered from the respective schools. The top 100 students from each CBSE region will be given a Merit certificate.

Test will be of one hour with objective type questions. Total weightage shall be 60 marks and there shall be no negative marks.
Registration
First Stage
An affiliated school can apply through the link available on this page on or before 15th November 2019 till 5.30 p.m. No fees shall be charged for the first stage.
During the period from 18th to 22nd November 2019 a question paper will be made available to the registered schools with answer keys through the online link.
The school registered shall conduct the test and identify three top students by administering the test. In case more than three students getting same mark at the top level, a suitable screening test may be conducted by the schools at their own level to identify the top three students.
Schools shall register the names of these three top students by paying Rs. 900/- fees by logging in through the online link during 18 to 25th November 2019. During this stage, this link can only be accessed by the schools which registered for the test before the last date.
Second Stage
- A computer based test will be conducted by the board for the top three students registered from each school on 29th November 2019. Only the schools who have completed the first stage shall be eligible for the second stage.
- The detailed modalities of conduct of the test shall be communicated to the schools that register class VIII-X students for the challenge.
- Awards
Top 100 students from each CBSE region will be given Merit certificates.
- 10 schools from each region with maximum number of student participation in the first stage shall be given an appreciation certificate by the Board.
