Formulae for calculating areas:-

  • Square:- side × side = side²
  • Rectangle:- Length × Breadth = l × b
  • Triangle:- 1/2 × base × height
  • Circle:- πr²
  • Cylinder:- 2πrh
  • Sphere:- 4πr²

Formulae for calculating volume:-

  • Cube:- length × length × length = l³
  • Cuboid:- length × breadth × height = l × b × h
  • Cylinder:- πr²h
  • Sphere:- 4/3πr²
  • Cone:- 1/3πr²h

Formulae for calculating density:-

  • Solid:- Mass of the solid/Volume of the solid
  • Liquid:- Mass of the liquid/Volume of the liquid

Formulae for calculating speed and velocity:-

  • Speed = Distance/Time
  • Average Speed = Total distance covered/Total Time taken to cover the distance
  • Distance = Speed × Time
  • Time = Distance/Speed
  • Average Velocity = Displacement/Time

Formulae for calculating energy:-

  • Work = Force × S (Displacement)
  • S = Work/Force

Formulae for calculating temperature scales:-

  • Temperature in Kelvin = °C + 273
  • Temperature in °F = 9C/5 + 32
  • Temperature in °C = 5/9 (F - 32)

Formulae for calculating sound:-

  • Speed of sound = Distance between the buildings/Time interval
  • Distance between source and reflecting body = v × t/2
  • Depth of ocean floor = Velocity of sound in sea water × Time/2

Formulae for calculating electric circuit and its components:-

  • 1 ampere = 1 coulomb/1 second
  • I = Q/t
  • R = V/1
