pons are presented in brain and it is connected with many important nerves. the pons also impact several automatic function necessary for life.the lower pons stimulate and control the intensity of breathing and a section of upper pons decrease the depth and frequency of breaths.

pons carries the impulses from one hemisphere of the cerebellum to the other hemisphere and coordinates muscular movements on both the sides of the body .
