GIVEN :-

  • If 1/√144 = x/7

TO FIND :-

  • The value of x,

SOLUTION :-

⇒ 1/√144 = x/7.

⇒ 1/12 = x/7. [ ∵ √144 = 12 ]

By cross multiplication,

⇒ 12 × x = 7 × 1

⇒ 12x = 7

⇒ x = 7/12

Hence the value of x is 7/12.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION :-

➵ A number ending with an odd number of zeros (one zero, 3 zeroes and so on) is never a perfect square.

Example :- 150, 25000 are not perfect squares.

➵ The square of a number other than 0 and 1 is either a multiple of 3 or exceeds the multiple of 3 by 1 .

Example of multiples of 3 :- 3² = 9 , 12² = 144.

Example of multiples of 3 exceeds by 1 :- 4² = 16 = (15 + 1)
