Umar Khalid was invited to an event called 'Cultures of protest' in Rajasthan college to celebrate 100 yrs. He was invited to speak on adivasi groups.
The ABVP says that the neutral students of the college have a problem with Umar Khalid being invited and hence went and raised their voice against the decision to invite him. However more students said that it was the ABVP & DUSU who came and started protesting and pressurized to withdraw the invitation. Finally the principal withdrew the invitation.
Now Umar Khalid is out of the equation. ABVP still protests outside. They bring speakers and start playing loud music. The ABVP threw stones at the window room where the event was held. The protestors also say that this was a breach of freedom of expression.
