can anyone tell me where is the potential energy stored and why does it only when a body is in a particular height but not in the ground.

Hi friend...

When an object possesses kinetic energy and stops due to the action of force it then potential energy. Potential energy is not in the ground because the object hasn't moved. But after moving to a certain height it actually stops moving. So potential energy is done when an object possesses kinetic energy and stops. The energy which is at rest is potential energy but it is only when an object moves and stops.
