Hey friend, since the class size are not equal therefore we could solve it by either making it continuous and using the step deviation method or directly using it. In the textbook they have demonstrated how to use the method directly.

If the class size is not continuous we can still find the mean or average using the step deviation method but for the calculations to be simpler we learnt that we need to divide 'di' by the class size. But since here the class size is not equal so we divided it by a number which is the HCF of most i.e 20
