Books are for Understanding the concepts and learning about the chapter not for memorising each and every word.

All you have to do is -

Read the Introduction part of a chapter

Read and understand the topics

Make keywords and short notes

Memorise the Summary

Read again and again until you can define the chapter in your own language

Actually I have recently given my board exams

So what I feel is that you don't have to write the same language which is written in your book instead you can write In your own language but the meaning of the content should not change
