when you sit on a chair you will apply a downward force called weight, and that weight is balanced by a upward force called nomal reaction which is perpendicular to the surface of chair. This pair of forces which act on the same body but in opposite direction are called action and reaction pair.they are equal in magnitude but opposite in direction

when you sit on a chair the gravitational force is exerting force on the chair through you (meaning you are exerting gravitational force in the chair in the form of weight). So in order to prevent the chair from getting broken the chair also has to exert equal but opposite force in order to nullify/cancel out the gravitational force (as they are acting opposite to each other and if both the forces are equal then the net movement will be zero ). So your question is justified.

hope you will understand and please mark as the brainliest :)

Sanramkar: example the nails present is the chairs is fixed which helps in tolerating the weight.
Sanramkar: understood?
chandnimastwalp24e7e: naa
Sanramkar: hmm.
Sanramkar: if you try to push a heavy box (having wheels) up a slope you would have observed that if you apply a small force on the box then also the box continues to roll down the slope
Sanramkar: in order to make the box stop you have to exert equal force on the box
Sanramkar: here in the second case the third law of newton will be applicable.
Sanramkar: now you understood?
chandnimastwalp24e7e: yes y example clear h
Sanramkar: thanks for the marking as the brainliest :)
