Answer:

  1. The oesophagus is a muscular tube. It connects your mouth to your stomach. When you swallow food, the walls of the oesophagus squeeze together (contract). This moves the food down the oesophagus to the stomach. The upper part of the oesophagus is behind the windpipe (trachea)
  2. The tongue is a muscular organ in the mouth of most vertebrates that manipulates food for mastication and is used in the act of swallowing. It has importance in the digestive system and is the primary organ of taste in the gustatory system.
  3. The trachea, commonly known as the windpipe, is a tube about 4 inches long and less than an inch in diameter in most people. The trachea begins just under the larynx (voice box) and runs down behind the breastbone (sternum). The trachea then divides into two smaller tubes called bronchi: one bronchus for each lung
  4. the part of the larynx consisting of the vocal cords and the opening between them. It affects voice modulation through expansion or contraction.
  5. The vestibular fold (ventricular fold, superior or false vocal cord) is one of two thick folds of mucous membrane, each enclosing a narrow band of fibrous tissue, the vestibular ligament, which is attached in front to the angle of the thyroid cartilage immediately below the attachment of the epiglottis, and behind to ...
  6. Pyriform fossa. Is a potential space that lie on either side of the larynx. They are two in number. It is shaped like a pyramid with the base poinint above and the apex below. They belong to the hypopharyngeal area of the pharynx.
  7. either of the lower pair of vocal cords that enclose the lower part of the elastic membrane of the larynx, that extend from the inner surface of the thyroid cartilage near the median line to a process of the corresponding arytenoid cartilage on the same side of the larynx, and that when drawn taut, approximated
  8. The epiglottis is a leaf-shaped flap of cartilage located behind the tongue, at the top of the larynx, or voice box. The main function of the epiglottis is to seal off the windpipe during eating, so that food is not accidentally inhaled
