Answer:

(1) Given:

Speed=4km/h=1.11m/s

Time=30min=1800s

Speed=Dist./Time

Dist.=Speed×Time

=1.11×1800

=1998m or 1.998km

(2) Given:

Dist.=216km

Time=4h

Average speed=Total dist./Total time taken

=216/4

=54km/h

(3) Given:

Average speed of A=40km/h

Average speed of B=50km/h

Time taken by A and B=3h

Dist. of car A=Speed×Time

=40×3=120km

Dist. of car B=Speed×Time

=50×3=150km

Car B will be 30km far from Car A after 3h.

(4)Given:

Average speed 1=40km/h=11.1m/s

Average speed 2=60km/h=16.6m/s

Time 1=15min=90s

Time 2=15min=90s

Dist. 1=Speed 1×Time 1

=11.1×90=999m

Dist. 2=Speed 2×Time 2

=16.6×90=1494m

Total dist. covered by the car=999+1494

=2493m or

2.493km

(5)The motion in which the object covers equal distances in equal intervals of time is called periodic motion. For e.g., a pendulum and tuning fork can be used to measure time and are both periodic motion.
