Can displacement ever be greater than distance? ​

Answer....

We know that the distance is the total path covered over a period of time whereas the displacement is the shortest distance between initial and final points .

So , displacement can never be greater than distance . It's maximum value can be equal to distance but can never exceed it .

Displacement is always less than or equal to distance. Note that distance is a scalar whereas displacement is a vector.So' displacement cannot be more than distance.
