Can elementary particles be confined to a smaller region then their Compton wavelength?

I think the answer is already derivable from the links you posted. Trying to confine a particle below its Compton wavelength will cause pair creation around it, essentially defeating the meaning of confinement of a single particle, due to the presence of a cloud of new particles around it.
