Answer:

1. Clastic sedimentary rocks are made up of pieces (clasts) of pre-existing rocks. Pieces of rock are loosened by weathering, then transported to some basin or depression where sediment is trapped. If the sediment is buried deeply, it becomes compacted and cemented, forming sedimentary rock.

2. Sedimentary rocks are formed by accumulation and hardening of sediments such as mud, sand, silt and disintegrated rocks over a period of time which are arranged in layers. Therefore we call them stratified rocks. as the deposition takes place in layers or strata, sedimentary rocks are also called stratified rocks.

3. Sedimentary rocks are characterised by their formation from the deposition and lithification of rock material. They may be formed through physical and chemical processes, such as mechanical weathering, compaction and dissolving of rock material.

4. Lithification. Lithification (from the Ancient Greek word lithos meaning 'rock' and the Latin-derived suffix -ific) is the process in which sediments compact under pressure, expel connate fluids, and gradually become solid rock.

5. Sedimentary rocks comprising an important improvement in the primary matter over medium deposits are charged carbonaceous sedimentary rocks. The volume of organic matter compelled to characterize debris as carbonaceous is not substantially stabilized. Calcareous stones are carbonated ingredients, generally dolostone.

2.) Sedimentary rocks are formed by the hardening and accumulation of sediments such as mud etc.. Over long period by layers therefore it is called as stratified rocks

3.) hard, lustre, crystal structure, streak.

4.)litification is the process of porosity destruction through cementation and compaction

5.) calcarious rocks are formed due to the gradual deposition and accumulation of sediments derived from decayed matters
