Can frictional forces be helpful or do they need to be eliminated always? Explain your answer with the help of example.

Frictional force is our friend as well as foe.

it stops out vehicles when we apply brakes but damages tyres.

it helps in stoping engions but heats up them.

Friction is a contact force that opposes the Motion of a body.

Frictional forces are equally helpful and harmful.

As friction is an opposing force we always think that we should eliminate it.

Elimination of friction is an impossible event.Friction can be minimised but can't be removed.

Friction is helpful as

1)The nails in the wall are fixed due to friction

2)When brakes are applied the vehicle stops due to the friction between tyres and road.

3) Due to friction fire is produced

4) We are able to hold objects due to the friction between hands and object
Friction is a demerit because

1)Due to friction wear and tera of machine increases

2)The friction in Machine makes the usage of more fuel
