no they can't since hydrogen ions are cations and thus they can't exist independently.

hydrogen ions cannot exist alone,but they exist after combining with water molecules.Thus hydrogen ions must always be shown as H+ or hydronium ion.

No hydrogen ion can not exist alone. They need some solvent to mix to become ions like water.when hcl combine with water they produce hydronium ion
