Newton is generally regarded as the most original and influential theoretical physicist in the history of science.
Newton discovered the law of gravitation, when he was only about 25 years old. He formulated the well-known laws of motion. He worked on theories of light and colour. Newton designed as astronomical telescope to carry out astronomical observations.
Newton was a great mathematicians too.
He invented a new branch of mathematics, called calculus.
In 1684, Newton wrote his world famous book "The Principia Mathematica". In 1704,he brought out another book"Optickd". As the keystone of the 17th century, Newton's work combined the contribution of copernicus, Kepler, Galileo and others into a new powerful synthesis.
