Acceleration is the rate of change of velocity. Usually, acceleration means the speed is changing, but not always. When an object moves in a circular path at a constant speed, it is still accelerating, because the direction of its velocity is changing.

● The SI unit of acceleration is metres/second^2

◆ For motion along a straight line, if the velocity of the body is increasing with time, then it is said to be in positive acceleration.

While, if the velocity of the body is decreasing with time, then it is said to be in negative acceleration or retardation

example of body in uniform acceleration-

The motion of a freely falling body and a vertically thrown up body are the example of uniform accelaration.

The motion of a ball rolling down an inclined plane is another example of uniform accelaration.
