of course u can have interest. it is of two types. if u are not good at studies you should make this interest advantage and should become an expert in your it. if you are good at studies then, u can keep this art as a hobby and can fulfill ur interest after u getting a job. and as ur father is scolding, don't try to draw before him and also without his permission. I think u should keep concentration on studies. hope this helps u.
