1. they enjoyed the Irish stew. Though it took a lot of effort to prepare it, it was a great success. It had a unique flavor and was nourishing.

2. Throughout the trip Montmorency had shown great curiosity towards the kettle. He would sit and watch it. Whenever it began to splutter and steam, he regarded it as a challenge and would want to fight it. He would often try to grab the boiling kettle, but would be stopped by someone or the other. But, that day he decided to act beforehand and rushed at the kettle and seized it by the spout. As expected, he got burnt with the heat and this made him give out a blood-curdling yelp. He left the boat and ran three times round the island trying now and then burying his nose in a bit of cool mud.

3. When George first tried to play the banjo on the boat, both Harris and Jerome discouraged him. Harris objected by saying that he has got a headache, and did not feel strong enough to stand it. George said that the music may take away the headache, but after he played the banjo a bit, Harris commented that he is better off with the headache.

Since then, George continuously met discouragement whenever he tried to play the banjo. Whenever, he would begin, while Harris would abuse him, Montmorency would keep on howling steadily. So George decided to postpone study of the banjo until he reached home.

4. George fought with the female swan. it went away defeated but returned back with 18 other other swans to fight with George.

5. When they arrive, a terribly exhausted Harris explains that he spent hours fighting off a flock of aggressive swans, whose nest they disturbed when they moored the boat. The next morning, Harris does not remember anything about the swan fight, and George and J. wonder if he dreamt it.

1.  The three friends enjoyed the stew because there was something so fresh and piquant about it. Besides it was completely a new dish with unique flavor they had not tasted in their entire life.

2. He had fight with the tea kettle as he mistook it for a rival animal. But he got scared of it when he bit its hot steaming spout.

3. He postponed his study of banjo because the world around him did not encourage him learning it. Everyone appeared to be dead against his practicing it. He even had to face trouble with the police on account of it.

4. The female swan returned with i8 swans to take revenge from Harris for chivying her from her nest.

5. Harris did not sleep peacefully during the night after his fight with the swans. Harris kept wandering about the boat with the lantern, looking for his clothes. He seemed to be worrying about his clothes all night.
