yes,because air passing over forests picks up moisture given off by trees and plants, fueling rains. When those trees disappear, so does some of that rain.

yes, large scale cutting of trees led an effect on rainfall in an area because of cutting of trees it led to disturbance in economic balance. for example : when slash and burn cultivation is done the smoke released due to burning of trees causes air pollution which led bad effect on an area.
