Yes, Non-violent protests sometimes turns violent just as the Non-copperation Movement in India turned into violent movement because of the Chauri-Chaura Incident which took place at Gorakhpur district of the United province. The protestors burned down the police stations and as a result many protestors died due to huge mob attack. Gandhi on knowing the incident thought that this non-coopertaion movement had turned into a Himalayan Blunder. He as a result suspended this very movement.
