plants take nitrogen from the soil by the absorption from the root as amino acids, nitrite ions , nitrate ions or ammonium ions .Plants do not get nitrogen directly from the air .

Plants take nitrogen from the soil for nutrition. Some plants have Ribosome bacteria in their roots which help the plant to take Nitrogen from the soil (Nitrogen Fixation)
