can plants live without a stem? why or why not?

Answer:

Plants can not survive if roots were taken away.

It can either not survive without stem. A plant with no leaves and branches may survive for a period of time but also it need leaves and branches to perform photosynthesis. A plant require sunlight and water which is utmost necessary for photosynthesis process.
